Anyone who knows me will tell you that I like shortcuts. If there is an easier way to do something, I want to find it. If you find yourself creating similar documents over and over again, you should be using templates.
All word processor, spreadsheet and page layout programs come with a variety of fill-in-the-blanks document templates, but creating your own is as easy as creating any single document. Need letterhead? Create your own and save it as a template.
In Pages, look down the list under the File menu and you will see Save as Template. In Microsoft Word, go to Save as and toggle the file type to Word Document Stationery.
By using a template or stationery document, you will have a clean, ready-to-go document each time you need it, complete with all of the things you use every single time, saving you that extra time and typing.
