Each week I come to you with some words of wisdom about backing up your Mac or PC.

I will continue to do such till they refuse to let me blog here anymore.

Summertime and the living is easy

But this week, with the weather outside getting really nice, you should consider “backing up” and “restoring” yourself by  looking at the majesticality of the world around you. The foliage that is in bloom, the greening of the turf, the singing of the birds, the longer days, the family and friends that we have, care, and share with. Ahhhhh!

With the onset of Summer, one tends to think of the above and start to (for lack of a better description) neglect our friend that sits on the desk and serves us faithfully. Our confidant and friend through those past cold winter months. The loving glow of pixels that kept us from going insane with cabin fever. ( Actually, I love my cabin. Not a log cabin, not a cabin-nay, or even cabin-net for storing dishes or catching fishes, or that “Cabin in the Sky”

Speaking of Movies

BTW – Last night I went to see the remake of The Karate Kid” with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. Not bad. I still think that the original one with Pat Morita was the better version. I dig Jackie Chan but Morita was better. Also Jaden Smith did not act as well as Ralph Macchio to my taste. You decide for yourself. Let me know.

But I digress… I rather digest something cooked on the grill.. see we are back outside. Unless you want to use the old Pentium rotisserie attachment from years back. Bad joke I know.

The simple point I just wanted to put across is don’t get so caught up in the change of seasons that you forget to BACKUP your Mac or PC. Just because it’s nice out doesn’t give rights to neglect our friend that sits faithfully on the desk waiting for your fingertips to caress the keyboard. Make it part of your routine, even if it’s less frequent because of less frequent use.

Just remember to BACKUP and if you are not sure when you last backed up, then BACKUP now

My Radio sounds good to me

Of course this Saturday, join Ed Rudel and I as we do “The Internet Advisor Show” on 760 AM WJR. Gary Baker will be off celebrating the Graduation of his Daughter Loren. Congrats!  As usual we will be there to talk and answer questions about computers, the Internet and things of that such. The show is from 5 to 7 PM.

From the college of musical knowledge:

There is a reason for the term ” One Hit Wonder” — How would you ever follow up to this. Enjoy!

GO Cal loved the music choice this week. Good job as usual.

  2. Donna says:

    I love that song!

In defense of Jaden Smith, he is about 10 years younger than Ralph Macchio was when he filmed the original.

I just got one of my big external hard drives working again and re-designed my entire crazy back-up scheme with SuperDuper! and Time Machine. My motto is “redundancy redundancy redundancy”.
