I’m constantly on the lookout for new and better maintenance/repair software. A little maintenance now and then will keep your computer running smooth. My favorite for many years has been DiskWarrior, excellent disk repair software, but at $99.95, definitely not cheap. And the last major upgrade cost me $49.95. I recently ran across Socks ($14.99) from MKD Software, their replacement for System Optimizer X. One of the nice things about it — while other current software requires an Intel processor, Socks will also run on PPC machines and on systems back to 10.3.9. Oh, and they’ve added lots of nice features.
