Free Form Friday!
Some times I feel compelled to have the readership join in the creation of a blog subject. This week is such a week, henceforth, the tile for this week. Got a snappy idea? Matter of fact it doesn’t have to be related to the content. Just make up a title that suits your fancy. “It’s Freeform Friday!” !!!!!
I serve two masters
For those of you that know me, you know that I serve both sides of the old fence. I work in a Windows world but I create and love in a Macintosh world.
I finally got an Intel based Mac so it gave me the option to be able to run both operating systems (Windows and Mac) on one platform.
Make it Handy
The one thing I did not want to have to do was to have to reboot the machine whenever I wanted to switch OS’s. That pretty much took the “Boot Camp” option out of the picture. That left me with the choices of Parallels or VMFusion.
I had though about Parallels because some reviews said that it was leading the race over VMFusion. I was lucky enough through and association with a VMWare rep at work to get a complimentary copy of VMFusion. I decided to give it a shot before spending money on Parallels.
Now I have a physical Windows XP machine in my studio that I use from time to time. So it already configured and ready for the work I do. I figured I would have to load VMFusion and then the Windows XP OS, followed by all of the applications that I use. I was gathering that media together when I discovered that I could load an applet on my existing Windows XP box and then link (over the network) to my iMac that I was installing VMFusion on. VMFusion would then install on my iMac and then clone the Windows physical PC into my VMFusion virtual PC.
After about 2 hours, it was done. Son of a Gun! I have my physical PC cloned into my iMac. This is great so far. I am going to start running it through the paces next week and I will let you know how it’s doing. Stay Tuned.
Musical Selection for the Week
Since it rained so hard last night in my area, it took out my internet access I thought that this would be an appropriate choice. Another artist that has been one of my faves over the years
50,000 Watts and Sounding Like a Million!
