I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m tired of dealing with the s-l-o-w page rendering in Safari — on the iPad as well as my iMac & MacBook Air. Some sites seem to take forever to load. And on the iPad, sites that need Flash? Sorry, Safari doesn’t do Flash on iOS.
On my iMac, I switch between Safari and Google Chrome. On the iPad? Not Chrome, as it’s slower than Safari. On the iPad I’ve switched to Puffin. It’s fast! Super fast! It does Flash, has a built-in trackpad (aka virtual mouse) to control an actual cursor, gamepad controls and it can go full screen. I like it. It’s $2.99, but they have a free version that you can try for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, the browser works, but Flash is disabled. Downside? Because of the of the way it accesses data, it’s only supposed to work with sites on US servers. I tested a couple of European news sites, and while a smidge slower, the sites still worked as usual. My only complaint is that it doesn’t import other browser bookmarks. Can’t have everything.
Want a better/faster web browsing experience on your iPad or iPhone, or need Flash? Check out Puffin. Download the free version and give it a try. If you end up buying the full version, it will let you import any bookmarks saved with the free version.
