Yes, I make a holiday wish list.

Without one I’d probably end up with more hat and scarf sets than I can stand. 🙂
And it helps out those who have a difficult time deciding what to buy you.

I, like most who watch movies, have a movie library of DVDs.

At any given time, I like to watch any one of my movies, on my favorite movie watching device, my iPad.

But, if I don’t already have the movie ripped by my computer, I have to go through the ripping process. This does take a little time, so I would eventually choose something else to watch that happens to already be ripped.

The goal is to have all my movies ripped and ready, but I don’t want to have those files taking up space on my computer.

So then, there’s ripping the movies to an external drive dedicated specifically for movies. That’s a great option. All my movies would then be ready for me to copy over to my computer to watch on my iPad.

There are several ways to get the movie to my iPad. I can copy the movie to my iPad via iTunes. I can use the Video Share feature in iTunes and stream the movie to my iPad.

That’s all good, actually great, but if this could be better, I’d like that too.

With the Seagate GoFlex Satellite Mobile Wireless Storage Hard Drive, it just might be. Let’s call it SGFS for short.

The SGFS is a pocket size, 500GB, battery powered hard drive that wirelessly streams its content to your Mac and PC devices (iPad, iPod Touch, iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Tab, and Nexus S).

You can load it with media content (videos, songs, documents) and then access your media from the iPad using the free app or web browser to stream the content wirelessly. Three devices can be connected to the SGFS at one time.

With the capacity to load hundreds of video, I certainly could have my entire video library on this drive and watch whatever movie that suits me, whenever and wherever I want.
